Briefing growth teams with segment cards

A one-page segment card beats a thirty-slide deck when campaigns move weekly.

Growth calendars move faster than research decks. Segment cards shrink the insight to what a campaign owner needs this week: who, why now, proof signal, and what not to claim.

Each card we prepare holds a plain-language name, inclusion rule in one line, a size band (not a false precision count), and a single recommended message angle.

We also list one “do not say” line. That line prevents creative from inventing benefits the segment never showed.

Print or pin the cards where standups happen. Digital-only libraries get ignored when the briefing window is fifteen minutes.

Update cards on a fixed cadence—monthly for most consumer apps—so stale definitions do not quietly steer spend.
